HOW CAN I HELP YOU?
Grounding my work in the person-centred approach means I embrace the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to deeply understand your thoughts, feelings, behaviour and experiences from your frame of reference - hearing your words and being curious about the emotions and meanings behind them. Sessions will move fluidly with the direction being led by you. I often adapt the way I work to suit your needs as I do not believe in a 'one-size-fits-all' rigid way of working.
I will sit side by side with you in the messiness of any emotional uncertainty, helping you to become more present and connected with your inner and outer world and what makes you, you. It's common to feel some level of resistance or discomfort at the beginning of therapy, but I will be with you to help you through this. I will gently encourage you to explore any difficulties and deepen your awareness without pushing, respecting your pace, so you can begin to feel 'unstuck'.
There’s a common misconception that therapy is only for those in crisis, but that’s not the case. Therapy is for everyone, at any stage of life, and for any reason you feel is important. Working with me gives you the time to pause, reflect and process any emotional difficulties and challenging life events, offering you the much needed space to slow down, take a moment and check-in with yourself.
You may know exactly what you want to focus on in sessions or be a little uncertain where to begin. No matter what you do bring to the space, I view you as a whole person with a unique story to tell and welcome any topic with openness, empathy and attentiveness. Together, we can slowly explore, unravel and unpick the many parts of your path so far, empowering you to move forwards towards a life that feels more fulfilling and meaningful for you.
