GETTING STARTED
Step One:

Get in touch with me by telephone or email.
Your message can include as much or as little as you like about why you are reaching out. I will always endeavour to get in touch within 24 - 48hrs to respond to your enquiry. All contact is strictly confidential from the beginning.

Step Two:

I will contact you to arrange a free 30 minute initial consultation.
This will be an informal, friendly chat for me to learn more about you and if working together will meet your needs. There is no obligation to book in for any further sessions beyond our initial meeting.
Step Three:

​​​During your consultation we will work through any questions you have about the counselling process, discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and identify any areas you would like to work on. It gives you the opportunity to get a sense of who I am and how I work as a therapist. I will hold the space between us as I would a counselling session with both care and understanding.

You can take some time away from the consultation to decide if working with me feels right for you. I will be honest and transparent if I feel it would be unsafe or unethical for us to work together and I will support you with a referral if needed.
Step Four:
​
​If we both feel happy to move forward, the final step would be booking you in for your first session. Dependent on my availability and your own preferences, you can choose to have in-person sessions with me in Ilkley or Otley or work remotely by telephone or Zoom.
